You know, just once I'd like to go on a vacation that doesn't end up with me somehow waking up with a headache. Just once! I'm getting sick of sleeping gas and I want my clothes!

This isn't my diary... That's not the right date... this is too weird. Too weird. I'd better call the Professor...

[ and in the dark, jubilee doesn't notice that tree branch. the girl trips over it, and mistaking it as a possible assailiant, twists around to let loose a blast. but as she's in the middle of falling--

tonight, luceti, you're greeted to a show! there's a sea of fireworks lighting up your evening skies. ]

Ahh... yeah, definitely free. Go change and I'll call Rogue over, yeah?

[How does he explain to Rogue that Jubilee is here, but she's lost her mind?]

[ she gives a nod and with an armful of clothing, meanders on into the changing room. ]

[In the meantime, Kurt is just going to call up Rogue on the journals and quickly inform her of where he's at. He'll even offer to teleport her on over, in fact.]

[And in a burst of smoke, they appear back at the clothes shop.]

[ and out she walks, wearing her usual outfit, sans glaringly yellow jacket, which is draped over her arm... along with enough clothes to fill a small closet. ]

He- [ ... wha... ] Rogue? [ ... ] What are you wearing?

[bamfing]

You're one to talk.

[Especially with those shades.]

[A hand goes to her head - Jubliee's outfit is just that bright and if she doesn't cut this off, if this Jubliee is anything like the one she remembers, she and Kurt will go at it all night.]

I told ya, it's a long story. Ya hungry? This is the sort of thing that goes down best with [whiskey] milkshakes.

I could go for some milkshakes. [ she casts one last look at the piles of clothing. deciding she can probably come back tomorrow, throws her load into a duffel bag and nods. ] Let's dip.

[bamfing]

["Let's dip?"] Shakes definitely sound good right now.

[Being the gentleman of the group, he will naturally go on ahead so as to hold the door open for these lovely ladies.]

[...seriously?] The Good Spirits is open. Let's head on over there.

[VERY weird. Fortunately it's a short walk over there and once inside, Kurt hops up on one of the stools, crouching on top of it rather than sitting like a normal dude would.]

So one banana for me. [He glances at Rogue.] Chocolate?

[And the weird has only begun.]

[Kurt will quickly take care of that, before turning to the two of them, while waiting for their order.]

So... I don't think we're remembering things the same way.

I reckon not. [A light glare, because they were to discuss this over milkshakes, Kurt, not before they got here to spoil everyone's appetites. All the same...]

What's the last thing you remember, Jubliee?

The last thing I remember? [ she looks thoughtful for a moment. ] Borrowing the X-Jet to go find Wolverine in Japan.

[bamfing]

... pretty sure Mr. Logan never went to Japan.

[And the LAST time Jubilee had borrowed the X-Jet, she and the others got majorly busted.]

[Oh good. Their milkshakes. Rogue reaches over and takes a long sip of hers, almost hoping she'll get a brainfreeze so that the pain in her brain can turn physical.

No such luck.]

Looks like we're dealin' with different worlds again. [Time to clarify.] Ya know who I am, though, right?

He was in Japan long before he joined up with the X-Men. He just went back for.. .some reason. [ she takes a sip, looking decidedly melancholy. ]

Did you say different worlds?

Well, yeah. The southern twang and the hair is a dead give away... but you're a lot older. We live in the academy. [ she points at kurt. ] And I only just met you.

[bamfing]

[Kurt puts his shake down before his first sip and gives an unimpressed frown.]

See? Now I know that's whack. I was recruited way before both of you were. [In fact he should probably be team leader here!]

[touchofrogue]

[Rogue hones in on something else.]

I'm older? [...she hadn't really anticipated ever getting older. She still wasn't sure the world would survive Apocalypse. And she wonders - did she ever learn to control it? But that she shoves that question back, for now.]

What year is it, where you're from?

Year? [ a weird look. she lets her sunglasses fall down, taking a long sip of milkshake. ] November, 1992.

[bamfing]

Uh... she meant the year now, not when you were born...

[Rogue feels her headache start to increase.]

You're not helpin', Kurt.

[She sighs and tries to gather her thoughts.

How would Scott do this?

She turns to Jubliee]

We're not the same Rogue an' Kurt from your world. We are Rogue an' Kurt, we're both still X-Men, but where we're from, it's 2003. [...] An' I haven't even got ta the wings part yet. Ya with me?

[So maybe Rogue has more of a 'rush straight in and trust everyone to keep up and take care of themselves' style than a 'make sure she understands everything' style.]
